Regina Jonas was the first woman ordained as a rabbi. She served Jewish communities in Berlin and Theresienstadt and was eventually killed in Auschwitz in 1944. Her story was almost lost to history. It was only when the Berlin Wall came down that her documents were found and legacy established. Her story is remarkable for the courage she showed in the face of this very difficult time in history.
