Since ancient rabbis were adamant that prayer can be in any language you understand, why do we still feel the push to use Hebrew in our services? By looking at some of the ancient sources along with looking at more contemporary reflections on Hebrew and prayer, we will discuss the role that Hebrew plays in our cultural and spiritual lives.
