We will experience the exuberant life of the shtetl as expressed through a combination of Chagall’s painting, reading (by Errol Durbach from Chagall’s autobiographical sketch), Jewish music (with Eliana and Rebecca Silver playing the violin), and commentary.
Jonathan Wisenthal was born in Montreal, attended university in the Province of Quebec and in England, and taught in the UBC English Department from 1964 until his retirement in 2005.
