David Millard
The Vancouver Jewish Folk Choir was founded in 1979 by Searle and Sylvia Friedman, z”l. Now directed by David Millard, the choir holds regular holiday and concert performances singing music that bridges diverse traditions, languages, musical styles and modes. The choir’s stirring Yiddish-language rendition of “Jabberwocky” (“Yomervokhets”) was a smash hit at Limmud’s Saturday evening cabaret in 2016. David Millard is a graduate of both music and linguistics at UVic, has directed the Vivaldi Choir and the North Vancouver Light Opera Society, and is currently music director at St. Martin’s Anglican Church as well as directing VJFC.
